There is an increased fear among teen victims that they are partly to blame and that adults will judge them. Advise the teen that it is not their fault and they do not deserve to be treated that way.

Any young person can experience dating abuse or unhealthy relationship behaviors, regardless of gender, sexual orientation, socioeconomic standing, ethnicity, religion or culture.
